CIRCLEVILLE – A 6-year-old from Pickerington was airlifted to Nationwide Children’s Hospital following a crash Saturday afternoon at state Routes 104 and 56 west of the city.

Four other people were transported to Berger Hospital following the accident about 1:40 p.m. Saturday, according to Deputy Shad Wright.

According to reports, Lydia Coleman, 19, of Chillicothe, was traveling eastbound on state Route 56 in a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix when she reportedly ran the red light at the intersection and struck a 2013 Mini Cooper traveling northbound on state Route 104.

The impact forced the Mini Cooper, driven by Steven Taylor, 46, of Pickerington, off the northeast corner of the roadway at the intersection and onto its side, Wright said.

Taylor, an adult passenger and an additional juvenile passenger all were transported by squad to Berger Hospital for treatment as the 6-year-old was transported by Air Evac to Columbus, Wright said.

Coleman, the only occupant of the Grand Prix, also was transported to Berger Hospital for treatment.

Rescue crews from Williamsport, WADES ambulance and Circleville EMS assisted at the scene.

The condition of the victims was unavailable at time of publication. The accident remains under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
