Circleville Police Reports

September 4

– A caller reported he witnessed someone steal a lighter from the Speedway store on Lancaster Pike, and when he went outside, the male threw the lighter at his vehicle, possibly causing damage. No report was taken by request.

– Officers impounded a vehicle during a traffic stop in the 700 block of South Pickaway Street for tags that expired in 2008. Two citations were issued.

– Mallory A. Cassley was arrested on a warrant for a probation violation from the Lancaster Police Department. She was transported to the Fairfield/Pickaway county line for transfer of custody.

– Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at Physicians Surgery Center on South Court Street. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Health Care Logistics. The call was canceled by the alarm company.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 500 block of South Court Street. The call was canceled by the alarm company.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 200 block of North Court Street. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated elevator entrapment alarm at Circleville Middle School. The officer on the scene advised the building checked OK. It had been struck by lightning and had some power issues.

– An employee of the city service department reported a complaint about a residence in the 100 block of Logan Street in which the interior of the residence “smelled like someone died.” The officer on the scene advised there was an odor, and neighbors advised there were several animals in the residence. Officers made contact with the homeowner by phone, who advised everything was OK.

– An employee of the Pickaway County Health Department requested an officer stand-by while they delivered nuisance letters to a couple of addresses in the city. The stand-by was completed.

– Officers responded to reports of threats or harassment in the 500 block of Plaza Drive. A report was taken.

– A resident in the 100 block of Logan Street reported a theft.

– A resident in the 800 block of South Scioto Street reported an act of vandalism.

– The Ohio State Highway Patrol advised of a vehicle driving recklessly into the city. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– An employee at Dynahoe reported a disgruntled employee was throwing papers off his desk, and he requested an officer before the situation escalated. The officer advised the male was informed it was a civil issue, and he left the scene.

– A resident in the 400 block of Watt Street reported a 6-month-old baby had poured hot wax on her face. The subject was transported to the hospital.

– An employee at Berger Hospital reported a possible theft. No report was taken.

– A caller reported two juveniles were left in the car while it was running in the parking lot at Kroger on Lancaster Pike. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A caller requested an officer stand-by while he retrieved a car off of private property. No report was taken.

– A caller reported a terrible smell coming from a residence in the 100 block of Logan Street. The homeowner was contacted and would be home in about an hour to address the problem.

– A caller reported electrical poles had fallen in the 500 block of South Scioto Street. AEP was advised and handled the scene.

– A resident in the 300 block of Logan Street reported someone broke into her house and stole a PlayStation 4. A report was taken on burglary.

– A caller reported a vehicle driving at high rates of speed in the alley at the rear of the 100 block of Logan Street. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office requested officers make contact with a subject in the 300 block of Pontious Lane. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– An employee at Hardee’s on West Main Street reported a male subject in the lobby after closing who was possibly intoxicated and refusing to leave because he stated he had nowhere to go. Officers requesed a medic for the subject, and he was transported to Berger Hospital.

– Virgil H. Keaton Jr. was arrested on a warrant after a resident in the 100 block of Logan Street reported he received a video of someone breaking into his house. A report was taken on animal cruelty.

– A resident in the 100 block of Logan Street reported a male subject outside taking pictures of his girlfriend through the windows. He advised the male had been attempting to start trouble at the house. Officers spoke with all parties involved, and the male advised he was taking pictures of a possible domestic dispute. All parties involved denied the incident, and no report was taken.

– An officer requested a report be saved for a fight at the Circleville High School football game between two sixth graders and their parents. A report was taken on disorderly conduct.

September 5

– An employee at the 56 East Car Wash reported there was a black suitcase in one of the bays, and he was afraid to go near it. Officers advised it was trash, and the property owner would dispose of it.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident in the 1200 block of North Court Street.

– A caller reported she was walking her dogs in the 300 block of Hardwood Avenue when another dog escaped an invisible fence, and she believed the other dog to be vicious. The dog warden was notified. Officers advised the owner had the dog, which was not vicious.

– Officers received two calls advising of two males with shotguns walking through the back yard of the Circleville Church of Christ on North Court Street toward the woods. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Mound Street reported his landlord locked him out by changing the locks before the eviction date. Officers advised it was a civil issue.

– A 911 caller reported he tracked his stolen cell phone to a house on Hayward Street. A report was taken on theft.

– Thomas Jenkins Jr. was arrested on a felony warrant after he turned himself in at the Circleville Police Department.

– A resident in the 300 block of Eva Drive came to the police station to report an assault. A report was taken on a neighbor dispute.

– A caller reported a cement truck had ripped up his fence in the 300 block of Lancaster Pike. A report was taken on a civil matter.

– Multiple callers reported the traffic lights were flashing at Mingo and Main streets. The service department was contacted.

– A 911 caller reported a disturbance between a male and female in Ohio Heights but was unable to advise what was going on. The officer advised the scene checked OK, and the caller was advised on the proper use of 911.

– An employee at Rural King reported a male and female had shoplifted at the store. A report was taken.

– A caller reported a vehicle driving recklessly had almost run him off the road three times on Route 22. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A caller reported the traffic lights were not working properly at Lancaster Pike and East Main Street. The service department was advised.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ohio Christian University. The fire department advised the fire alarm was accidental and involved food cooking in the microwave. The scene checked OK.

– A vehicle was impounded for expired tags following a traffic stop near UDF on East Main Street.

– A caller in the 600 block of East Mound Street requested an officer o dispose of a water bottle possibly containing drugs. The officer advised it was an empty bottle, and the scene checked OK.

– An employee at Classic Carryout on East Main Street reported a vehicle struck the building and caused damage, and the driver was possibly intoxicated. A report was taken, and citations were issued.

– The service department requested an officer to direct traffic at Lancaster Pike and U.S. Route 22 while traffic lights were corrected.

– A 911 caller reported a known male subject who was drunk drove into Ohio Heights and went into an apartment. Information was obtained.

– A caller reported juveniles were in the roadway at Renick and Half Avenue blocking traffic. The officer advised the scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 300 block of Clark Drive reported a male subject had pushed her in the chest and left the scene. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A caller reported an SUV was on the sidewalk at Court and Main streets but was pushed off the sidewalk by a male subject. A citation was issued.

– A resident in the 300 block of Barnes Avenue reported a male subject looking in windows. A report was taken on prowlers.

– A resident in the 700 block of South Court Street reported a theft.

– A resident in the 400 block of Watt Street reported a domestic dispute involving alcohol. A report was taken.

– Officers responded to a neighbor complaint in the 300 block of Barnes Avenue.

– A caller reported neighbors on Mill Street were drunk and screaming at each other. Officers advised there was no domestic dispute, and it was just a misunderstanding. No report was taken.

– A resident on McCulloch Avenue came to the police station to report she had blocked a phone number that was making threatening or harassing calls to her phone, but she was still receiving calls. A report was taken.

– A caller reported she kept hearing what sounded like gunshots in the area north of Berger Hospital. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate any subjects.
