Walter “Jay” Goldhardt

Walter “Jay” Goldhardt, age 88, of Grove City, passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Brookdale at Pinnacle.

Born Nov. 16, 1926, in Pleasant Corners, Jay was a graduate of Scioto High School class of 1945, a US Navy veteran and worked at Belt Corporation for over 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Blanche Goldhardt.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen (Furniss) Goldhardt; son, Don (Sharon) Goldhardt; daughter, Cathy (James) Chew; grandchildren, Brian Goldhardt, Cynthia Goldhardt and Beth Chew; great-grandchildren, Amanda Goldhardt, Annabelle Savage, Joshua Savage and Sophia Savage; brothers, Melvin “Biff” (Virginia) Goldhardt and Paul “Whitey” Goldhardt; sister-in-law, Gloria Formica; nieces and nephews, Margie Weaver PhD., Allen Goldhardt, Mitchell Goldhardt, Shelly Holly and Shannon Bumgarner.

Friends may visit from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Spence-Miller Funeral Home, 2697 Columbus St., Grove City, where funeral will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, with Pastor Jim Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at Grove City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children’s Hospital Foundation for Autistic Care.
