CIRCLEVILLE – The Pickaway Township Fire Department gathered Saturday to celebrate the retirement of Wendell See at the station on Tarlton Road.

See has served on local squad crews since 1982, beginning at the Circleville Fire Department and moving to Pickaway Township in 2005.

“I’m just glad the Lord gave me enough years to serve on both squads,” See told his well-wishers on Saturday. “Thank you all. It’s beyond words. I can’t say anything but thank you.”

See also thanked his wife during the celebration for “putting up with me all these years I was on the squad.”

Fellow firefighters presented See with a traditional retirement clock for his service to the department, and the Circleville Fire Department auxiliary presented him with a display recognizing his years of service.
