Gwendolyn Kasper

Gwendolyn Kasper, age 96, passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, in Heartland of Chillicothe.

She was born Jan. 8, 1919, in Clarksburg, daughter of the late Clarence and Estelle (Dawson) Bochard.

Gwendolyn was a life member of American Legion Auxilaries; Blue Star Mothers of America Aux.; Purple Heart Aux.; DAV aux. (past president); Royal Red Hatters of Port Charlotte, Florida; and a life member of First United Methodist Church of Mt. Sterling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Dale Kasper; stillborn daughter, Meredith Ann McKiney; twin sister, Glenna Sells; sister, Mary Louise Herndon; and step-son, Larry Kasper.

She is survived by her loving son, Jack (Kay) McKinney; step-son, Dennis (Shelly) Kasper; grandchildren, Bruce (Marilyn) Jackson, Jackquelyn (Mark) Shepherd, Wendy Hill, Chad Kasper, Melanie Kasper, Christy and Cindy McKinney; several great-grandchildren; and special niece, Mary Lynn (Sells) Mason.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at the Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling, Rev. Woody Woodrow Wilson officiating, with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015.

The family would like to thank both Heartland of Chillicothe and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care and kindness.
