CIRCLEVILLE – Two people wanted on warrants from the Circleville Police Department were arrested Tuesday after an officer recognized the male standing outside the police station on East Franklin Street.

Bryan Greeno, 31, and Rhonda Hardman, 42, both were taken into custody on warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug abuse instruments about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Greeno also racked up additional charges after officers reportedly discovered heroin and a large amount of cash on him at the time of the arrest.

According to reports, Officer Travis McKinney was on court security duty in the lobby of the police station when he observed Greeno outside in front of the station. Recognizing him and realizing he had an active warrant, McKinney asked him to step inside the lobby until Officer Jacob Freeman could retrieve the warrant from municipal court on the second floor of the building.

Freeman served Greeno the warrant, and McKinney placed him under arrest. According to reports, while searching Greeno’s right upper pocket, officers discovered a plastic baggie containing a suspicious substance.

Greeno was asked what was in the baggie, and he reportedly answered, “Heroin.”

In all, officers found Greeno had 15.7 grams of heroin and $1,689.03 in cash in his possession.

In addition to his warrant, Greeno also is now charged with possession of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony. He was transported to the Pickaway County Jail and is being held in lieu of bond until his appearance in Circleville Municipal Court.

Hardman was taken into custody without incident and also is being held in lieu of bond until her court appearance. She was one of the 72 suspects indicted in March as part of a large heroin ring operating between Columbus and Circleville. Hardman recently pleaded guilty to possession of heroin and is awaiting sentencing in that case.
