John “Jack” Kochensparger

John “Jack” Kochensparger, 84, of Circleville, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Brown Memorial Home.

He was born Oct. 27, 1930, in Circleville, to John Lewis and Fairy Jane (Stevens) Kochensparger.

Jack married the love of his life, Edris, in 1951.

Jack retired from GE in 1994 after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, hunting mushrooms and small game. Jack also served in the Army and loved history, especially Ohio history.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Paul and infant Emmitt; and sister, Hazel Mae Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife; children, Janet (Bryan) Cupp of Washington Court House, Kathy (Alan) Grant of Chillicothe, Rick (Sandra) Kochensparger of Circleville and Inge (Michael) Pearch of Circleville; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville, with Pastor Charles Alley officiating. Burial will be in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery with military service provided by AMVETS Post 2256 Honor Guard. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
