Circleville Police Reports

July 15

– A caller reported seeing several solar garden lights scattered around the area of South Pickaway and Town streets and believed they had been stolen from a local yard. Officers were unable to locate where they may have come from. No report was taken.

– A resident in the 1200 block of Williams Road reported a neighbor was burning trash, and it was an ongoing problem. Officers advised the neighbor was using the fire to cook hot dogs and would put it out with a water source when he was done. The scene checked OK.

– An officer marked out with two subjects at the South Court Car Wash. A report was taken on criminal mischief.

– A resident in the 200 block of Pontius Lane Reported a male with a mask and a gun was trying to get in her back door, but she believed he ran away. A report was taken on inducing panic.

– A resident in the 100 block of Parklawn Drive reported she believed someone was trying to break in. She said someone was banging on the door and wiggling the door knob, but she never saw the subjects. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area, and the house checked OK.

– A 911 caller reported she was assaulted by her step-mother in the 100 block of Villa Drive. A report was taken on an unruly juvenile.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 500 block of Northridge Road. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 600 block of Edgewood Drive. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident at North Pickaway and Watt streets.

– A caller reported she stopped to check on an elderly female walking barefoot on East Ohio Street carrying a large bag, but the female got angry with her. Officers made contact with the female, who said she believed the caller was stalking her. The subject checked OK.

– A 911 caller reported a male subject possibly broke his finger when his air bag deployed without reason as he pulled away from the gas pump at Speedway on Lancaster Pike. Medics from the Circleville Fire Department arrived on the scene, and a report was taken on a personal injury.

– Officers responded to a parking complaint in the 1200 block of South Pickaway Street.

– The city’s canine officer was requested to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol in the alley near North Court and Pinckney streets.

– A summons was issued for a female subject accused of shoplifting at Kroger on Lancaster Pike.

– A resident came to the police station to report an issue with a vehicle registered in his name that was being used by another subject, possibly with fictitious license plates. Information was obtained.

– Officers traveled to the Pickaway County Jail to serve a warrant on George Heeter, who was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

– A resident in the 100 block of Logan Street reported her son left home that morning and she had been unable to contact him since. Officers made several attempts to contact him by phone, but they were unsuccessful. Information was obtained.

– The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office advised they received three 911 hang-up calls from the 1200 block of Wilshire Court, but no one would speak. Officers advised the scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to reports of an intoxicated couple with a juvenile on McCullock Avenue, and the caller was worried for the juvenile’s safety. Officers advised the scene checked OK.

– A caller reported a known subject was making suicidal threats toward softball staff at Ted Lewis Park and requested extra patrol in the area. Information was obtained.

– The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office reported a 911 hang-up call from the 600 block of Hawthorne Drive. The scene checked OK.

– A 911 caller reported his wife and mother-in-law were in an argument in the 600 block of East Mound Street, and the wife left with the children. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A caller reported a black pickup truck tailgating in the area of East Main Street. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at PICCA on East Ohio Street. The scene checked OK.

– A caller reported people were tearing up a porch on McCullock Avenue. Officers advised the subject reported he was being evicted, and since he built the porch, he was tearing it down before he left. Officers advised it would be a civil matter.

– A resident in the 100 block of North Ewing Street advised a dog she reported stolen was now at a residence in the 100 block of Town Street. Officers were unable to locate.

– Patricia Haney was arrested in the 100 block of Town Street after a caller reported his mom and dad were hitting him in the face and he ran to the corner to get away. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– Extra patrol was requested at Everts Middle School after a caller reported finding two males inside the building earlier who were not authorized to be there. The caller said when they were asked to leave, the males became upset. Information was obtained and officers were advised.

July 16

– A 911 caller reported someone broke into his residence in the 300 block of East Mound Street and stole everything. A report was taken on burglary.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Mound Street reported receiving a text message and phone call she believed was drug-related. Information was obtained.

– James R. McGowan Jr. was arrested for possession of narcotics and attempted theft after a caller reported he had been stealing batteries and radiators from Euro Trucking on Island Road. He was apprehended on the back lot of the business.

– The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office reported a 911 caller in the 400 block of East Mound Street sounded out of breath but did not indicate what his issue was. Dispatch attempted to call the number back several times, but no one answered. Officers were unable to locate anyone at the residence.

– A caller reported a male subject in a motorized wheelchair was sitting near the new Savings Bank building on Pinckney Street the night before and was still there the next morning with his head slumped over. The male checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Coughlin Automotive on U.S. Route 23. The scene checked OK.

– A Pickaway County Sheriff’s deputy advised of a possible drunk driver who left the 100 block of South Scioto Street. All units were advised to be on the lookout.

– A caller reported a known male subject believed to be on probation was going to various stores and shoplifting. The subject was not on the probation list, but information was obtained.

– Officers responded to reports of suicidal threats in the 600 block of East Mound Street. The subject was transported to Berger Hospital. Officers determined there were no suicidal threats, and no report was taken.

– An officer took a supplemental report on a theft that occurred the night before at Euro Trucking on Island Road.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 300 block of Sunnyview Drive. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of East Mill Street reported her license plates had been stolen. A report was taken on theft.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Mound Street reported her neighbors were burning trash in the yard. The resident was located and the fire was put out.

– An employee at Howard’s Care Home on South Court Street reported a known male subject was trespassing after he was advised to stay off the property. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– An employee at Budget Host Inn on U.S. Route 23 reported a customer who was refusing to leave. The subject was packing up as officers arrived, and they were advised not to come back.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident at Mary Virginia Crites-Hannan Park.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident at Dairy Shed on Kingston Pike.

– A resident in the 100 block of Highland Avenue reported medication was stolen from her house. A report was taken on theft.

– A resident in the 300 block of Victor Drive requested to speak with an officer regarding problems he was having with his daughter. The resident was advised.

– A caller requested an officer stand-by in the 700 block of South Court Street to check a water leak. The stand-by was completed without incident.

– A 911 caller reported a lot of smoke in the area of Lewis Avenue and Lone Pine. The fire department was dispatched to the scene, and the resident was advised of open burn regulations.

– Officers responded to a parking complaint in the 300 block of Town Street.

– Officers assisted the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office holding the scene at Buffalo Wild Wings until deputies arrived, advising one of the parties was intoxicated and they did not want him to leave the scene.

– A resident in the 300 block of Kingston Pike reported finding a wallet in her yard. A report was taken on found property.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 23000 block of U.S. Route 23. The scene checked OK.

– A 911 caller reported a juvenile in a white car screaming and crying with no supervision in the area of Lincoln and John streets. The caller then reported the vehicle left the scene in an unknown direction. All units were advised.

– A caller reported juveniles were riding their bikes in the area of Main and Pickaway streets. Officers were unable to locate the juveniles.

– A caller from St. Joseph’s Church reported she was the last person out of the building at Everts Middle School after church camp and noticed one of the back doors of the building was not secured. Officers checked the building and advised it checked OK.

– Officers were advised of a possible drunk driver who left the parking lot at Walmart on South Pickaway or South Washington Street. All units were advised.

– Christopher D. Spillane was arrested for OVI and possession of narcotics following a traffic stop in the 100 block of Mingo Street.

– Extra patrol was requested after reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area of the 100 block of Rosewood Avenue.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 400 block of Watt Street after a caller reported a suspicious person in the area.
