July 11

– A caller advised she was depressed and wanted to speak with someone. An officer performed a well-being checked and advised the caller checked OK.

– A caller reported a male subject was trying to open vehicle doors in the area of Watt Street. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– A resident in the 300 block of Walnut Street reported someone was setting off fireworks and woke her baby up. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ohio Market on East Ohio Street. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of Collins Court reported she believed someone was breaking into a vehicle outside. Officers made contact with the subject, who was staying with his mother in the area. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to a parking complaint regarding a suspicious motorcycle in the area of PICCA on East Ohio Street. Officers made contact and advised the scene checked OK.

– A 911 caller reported a driver slumped over in the Peebles parking lot on U.S. Route 23. Officers advised the subject was a third shift worker who pulled over to rest. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of Pontious Lane reported a theft. A report was taken.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Discount Grocery on South Pickaway Street. The scene checked OK.

– A caller requested a well-being check on a female who appeared distraught in the area of Atwater and Wilson Avenue. The female was located and transported to Berger Hospital.

– A caller reported a known subject with an outstanding warrant was in the 900 block of South Court Street. Officers advised the male had no warrants entered or on file. Information was obtained.

– A 911 caller reported a male subject she believed to be under the influence at the Speedway store on North Court Street. Officers made contact with the subject and determined the male was sober but suffering from a medical condition. A friend arrived and transported him home.

– A 911 caller reported a disturbance in the 900 block of South Court Street in which a male threw water in her face. Officers advised the male left prior to their arrival, and the incident was a civil matter. The caller was advised on the use of 911. No report was taken.

– An employee at UDF on East Main Street reported someone drove off without paying for their gas purchase. The subject was located and escorted back to the store, where the issue was resolved.

– A subject was issued a citation for possession of narcotics following a traffic stop in the area of East Corwin and South Pickaway streets.

– A caller reported a computer tablet was stolen in the 300 block of East Franklin Street. A report was taken on theft.

– A caller reported a vehicle driving recklessly into town on Route 188 with three adults and five unrestrained children. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A resident in the 300 block of Logan Street reported he found a syringe at the rear of his property. Officers located and disposed of the item.

– A resident in the 600 block of East Main Street reported his wife was intoxicated, and they were involved in a domestic dispute. The male opted to stay elsewhere for the evening and left with a juvenile. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– Officers responded to reports of threats or harassment in the 100 block of Pontious Lane. Officers advised there were no threats, and a squad was requested for the subject.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Franklin Street reported a known juvenile was causing a disturbance in the street. The officer advised it was a misunderstanding over a parking space. No report was taken.

– A caller reported a trash burn in a fire pit at the west end of York Street. The fire department handled the scene.

– A 911 caller reported an active fight involving about 10 subjects in the area of South Court Street and Logan Street. Officers located the subjects, and a report was taken on disorderly conduct.

– A resident in the 100 block of West High Street reported someone setting off fireworks in the area. The district officer was advised.

– A resident in the 900 block of South Court Street reported subjects setting off fireworks in the parking lot. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– A caller reported juveniles were trying to get into a vehicle in the 300 block of East Mound Street. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– A caller reported someone shooting off fireworks in the area of Scioto and Hayward streets. Officers located the subjects and advised them of city ordinances.

July 12

– A resident in the 1200 block of Williams Drive reported a dog had been barking for a couple of hours. Officers were unable to locate the dog.

– An employee at Berger Hospital reported a patient was causing a disturbance and threatening suicide. Officers on the scene advised everything was OK, and the patient was advised to cooperate with staff.

– A resident in the 100 block of Logan Street reported someone knocked on her door and ran away. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area. Extra patrol was requested.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Mill Street requested extra patrol due to his windows being broken out. The district officer was advised.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident in the 200 block of Lancaster Pike.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Roosters on U.S. Route 23. The call was canceled by the alarm company.

– A resident in the 300 block of Ray Avenue reported the attempted theft of his vehicle overnight. A report was taken on criminal damage.

– Multiple 911 callers reported a known subject was using a vehicle to ram an unoccupied parked car in the 100 block of Logan Street in a continuation of an earlier call about an active fight in progress. The vehicle’s owner arrived on the scene and declined to pursue charges. A report was taken on child endangerment and hit-skip.

– A resident in the 900 block of South Court Street reported a burglary had occurred overnight. A report was taken.

– Officers responded to a parking complaint in the 100 block of Pleasant Street.

– A resident in the 100 block of East High Street came to the police station to report a theft.

– An employee at Berger Hospital reported a male subject left the third floor care center with an IV still in his arm. The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office was advised, and a report was taken on theft.

– A caller reported three or four juveniles, ages 5 to 6 years old, were in the area of South Court Street between Walnut and Town streets unsupervised and throwing debris into the roadway. The juveniles were located, and their guardians were contacted.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 800 block of Dartmouth. The scene checked OK.

– A juvenile came to the police station to report telephone harassment. No report was taken, and the juvenile would attempt to get the number blocked.

– A 911 caller reported an aggressive dog was running loose in the 500 block of Renick Avenue. Officers determined where the dog belonged and advised it had returned to the residence. The dog warden was advised.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Ohio Street came to the police station to report domestic violence. A report was taken, and charges will be pursued.

– A 911 caller reported hearing a gun discharge from somewhere inside Forest Cemetery on North Court Street. The caller was certain it was a gun shot and not fireworks. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.

– A resident in the 100 block of Parklawn Drive reported juveniles were burning something on a grill. Officers advised they had adult supervision, and the scene checked OK.

– A caller reported she just saw someone leave the lot of Coughlin Automotive on U.S. Route 23 and noticed a new vehicle running with the lights on in the parking lot. The officer was able to turn off the lights and secure the vehicle. A message was left for the keyholder.
