July 5

– A resident in the 500 block of Northridge Road requested extra patrol due to fireworks being set off in the area. The district officer and supervisor were advised.

– A resident in the 400 block of East Ohio Street reported two females at the residence having a party without their parents at home, and they believed there was underage alcohol involved. Two to three male subjects jumped the fence and ran toward Dearborn upon the officers’ arrival, and the homeowners arrived while officers were on the scene. A report was taken on underage consumption.

– A resident in the 100 block of West High Street requested extra patrol after finding the remains of bottle rockets behind her garage from people shooting fireworks. The district officer was advised.

– A resident in the 400 block of East Ohio Street reported his wife saw someone in their back yard. The officer advised everything checked OK and no one was located on the property.

– An officer responded to a 911 call from a patient room at Genesis Health Care on Atwater Avenue. An employee then picked up the phone and advised everything was OK, but the officer arrived on the scene to investigate. The call was determined to be accidental.

– A resident in the 200 block of Town Street reported hearing tapping on the windows and doors of her home, but when she answered, no one was there. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.

– An off-duty Laurelville police officer reported a possible domestic situation after seeing a younger male walking down the road crying, and as he cleared a seat for him, a vehicle came back to pick him up. Officers located the vehicle at the Speedway store on Lancaster Pike, and all parties denied any domestic situation. They advised the younger male got out to use the restroom and they drove away as a joke.

– A 911 caller in the 400 block of Stella Avenue reported his daughter was under the influence of narcotics and arguing with her mother, and she had minor lacerations to the wrist. The subject was transported to Berger Hospital, and a report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A resident in the 100 block of West Ohio Street reported her picture window was broken the night before. The caller was advised a report was taken the day before after neighbors reported the damage, and she was to follow up with the reporting officer.

– A resident in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue reported the theft of a lawn mower. Officers advised it was a civil matter.

– A resident in the 100 block of West Water Street reported vandalism of his property. A report was taken on criminal damaging.

– A resident in the 100 block of Pleasant Street reported he and a known female subject were in a verbal altercation, and the female threw a cup at him. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A resident reported known male subjects were shooting off fireworks in the street in the area of Pickaway and Logan streets. The officer spoke with the parents of the juveniles, and the fireworks were taken away.

– A caller reported a 2 to 3-year-old child was lying in the street in the 600 block of Clinton Street and was almost struck by a vehicle. The people in the car got out and assisted the child back to his home, but the caller was requesting a well-being check. Officers advised the child checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of East Mill Street reported her neighbor’s children were putting dirt in her mailbox, being loud and peeking through her windows. No report was taken, but the juveniles were advised.

– The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office advised Columbus Police were reporting a female driving in the 300 block of East Main Street who was making suicidal threats. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 300 block of Walnut Street. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 200 block of Logan Street reported a known male subject threw a firecracker at her son’s chest and left a red mark. A report was taken on assault.

– A caller reported a large group of people standing around two people who were fighting on the ground in the area of West Franklin and South Scioto streets. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– An employee of UDF on East Main Street reported a male taking items and putting them inside his pants. The male was banned from the store, and a report was taken.

– A caller reported possible drug activity on York Street. Officers advised the scene checked OK.

– An employee at Berger Hospital reported a patient in the emergency room was being unruly. The scene checked OK.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 800 block of North Court Street after a resident advised a young male on a bicycle came to her doorstep asking what time the library closes. Information was obtained.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 1000 block of Mulberry Road. The scene checked OK.

– A caller reported she was at a friend’s house in the 400 block of North Scioto Street and was choked by an unknown male. A report was taken on assault.

– A caller reported a male subject was being chased by four to five other males and ran to her doorstep on Half Avenue asking to come inside. She allowed him inside to call the police. A report was taken on a disturbance.

– A resident in the 200 block of Villa Drive reported a group of people entered her yard, and one jumped on top of her trunk, causing damage. A report was taken.

– The manager of Elsea’s reported an empty home on Detroiter Avenue appeared to have been broken into and was being occupied by someone. A report was taken on breaking and entering.

– Officers performed a well-being check on a female subject who was reportedly off her medication and running through the street. Medics transported her to the hospital.

July 6

– A resident in the 300 block of East Mound Street reported she heard noises in her back yard. Officers checked the area and advised the scene was clear.

– Tory Bolen was arrested in the 100 block of Lowery Lane after a caller reported his granddaughter was struck by him in the 900 block of South Court Street.

– A resident on McCulloch Avenue reported her juvenile daughter had not come home. The juvenile was later found, and the mother brought her to the police station for confirmation.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm on the ATM machine inside the UDF store on East Main Street. Officers advised the scene checked OK.

– Officers observed a group of teenagers running away from the Rhoads Farm Market trailer on North Court Street and observed the tarp was disturbed on the trailer, but they were unsure if anything was taken. Information was obtained.

– A resident in the 100 block of West High Street reported his sister was not supposed to be around him but was sitting in a vehicle just down the road from his residence. Officers were unable to locate the female.

– A resident in the 200 block of Pearl Alley reported someone had accessed his mother’s credit card without permission. A report was taken.

– A resident on Stihl Avenue reported his riding mower had been stolen. A report was taken on theft.

– An employee at Ron’s Glass Service on East Mound Street reported someone had been using their dumpster without permission. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspects on Lincoln Avenue, but no one was home. A door hanger was left.

– A resident in the 1000 block of South Court Street reported the theft of prescription medication. A report was taken.

– A resident in the 600 block of South Court Street reported a stolen bicycle.

– A caller reported a white pit bull got out of the yard in the 100 block of Town Street and was acting vicious toward people. Officers made contact with the dog’s owner and got the dog back inside the home. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 200 block of Logan Street reported a known male juvenile was shooting off fireworks again. The parent was advised of the use of fireworks in the city limits. Officers were called back to the scene on reports the juvenile was throwing firecrackers. The parents were advised, and the fireworks were taken away for the night. Officers were later called to the scene again for the same juvenile setting off bottle rockets in the street. Officers were unable to locate him the third time.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 100 block of South Scioto Street due to possible drug activity.

– A resident in the 200 block of Clark Drive reported his son,who did not have a license, had taken his car and not returned. The juvenile was located by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office after being involved in an injury accident on Cromley Road. He was transported to the hospital in Columbus.

– A caller reported a verbal disturbance in the 500 block of Mowrer Road. A report was taken.

– A resident in the 100 block of York Street reported his water bill was paid but he was now without water. Officers were unable to contact the water department after hours.

– A caller stated they needed police on West Water Street, and then the call disconnected. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– Officers impounded a vehicle with an expired registration in the 100 block of West Water Street.

– A resident in the 100 block of Lowery Lane reported a friend witnessed a known male place a syringe beneath the gas cap of her vehicle. The item was located and disposed of by police. A report was taken.

– A caller reported fireworks were placed in the middle of the roadway on Nicholas Drive and went off, striking her car. She reported no damage to the vehicle but requested officers check the area. Officers were unable to locate any subjects.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Ohio Street reported her 8-year-old child was not listening to her. The person was advised.

– A caller reported she smelled smoke and believed it was coming from the Renick Avenue area. The officer was able to locate a fire and advised the subjects to put it out.

– A caller reported four males were walking on South Pickaway Street at Brooks-Yates when they threw a rock and broke a window on his truck. A report was taken on vandalism.

– A resident in the 200 block of Sunset Drive reported her boyfriend struck her on the leg, and she believed he would run from the police. She advised he was also making suicidal threats. A report was taken on assault.
