Leona Irene Shaeffer, 88, of Circleville and formerly of Williamsport, died on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Pickaway Manor.
She was born on Jan. 30, 1927, in Adams County, the daughter of James and Flora (Boldman) Deatley.
Leona was a homemaker and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Checkers.
She is survived by son, Terry (Patsy) Shaeffer; daughter, Connie (Joe) Barthen; grandchildren, Kristie (Christian) Steck, Sarah (Ryan) Walters, Frank Barthen, Adam (Amber) Barthen and Kaci (Brad) Kushinski; and great-grandchildren, Reed, Sydnee, Garrett, Savannah, Gracyn, Ella, Max and Kendall.
In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Glenn R. Shaeffer, who passed away March 16, 2013; a sister, Betty Rowland; and a brother, Delbert Deatley.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will follow in Springlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
