Marilyn Joan (Hollis) Pettibone, age 83, of South Bloomfield, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Genesis Care Center, Circleville, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Ashville, daughter of the late John and Belva Mooney Hollis.

She graduated valedictorian of the Class of 1949, Ashville-Harrison High School. She retired as a food service dietitian for the State of Ohio. She was a member of the South Bloomfield United Methodist Church and the Ashville-Harrison Alumni Association.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Robert L. Pettibone.

She is survived by her children, Janice (John) Zeimer of Ft. Myers, Florida, Sherry (Jim) Estep of South Bloomfield, Kevin (Leigh) Pettibone of Panama City, Florida, Trent Pettibone (Brian Nyland) of Columbus, Brent Pettibone (Raymond Glenn) of Columbus and Jami (Tony) McComas of Stoutsville; grandchildren, Amy Shoffstall, Heather Wilson, Blythe Carpenter, Damon Wilson, Bart Pettibone, Preston Vance, Austin Pettibone, Drake McComas, Payton McComas, Kaylee Pettibone and Kevin Pettibone Jr.; great-grandchildren, Tyler Wilson, Cory Wilson, Keyan Wilson, CJ Gregg, Paige Wilson, Aieden Wilson, Tressa Carpenter, Braelyn Carpenter, Audee Carpenter, Alexis Detty, Brooklyn Pettibone, Max Pettibone and Lily Pettibone; sister, Johnda Pettibone of South Bloomfield; brother-in-law, Tommy Pettibone; “special daughter,” Allene Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville. Pastor Floyd Hubbell and Pastor Don Seymour will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harrison Twp. Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the South Bloomfield UMC Building Fund, 5027 Second St., South Bloomfield, Ohio 43103.

Friends and family are invited to join the family in food and fellowship at the South Bloomfield UMC Fellowship Hall following services on Monday.
