Charles L. Mertens, 77, of South Bloomingville, formerly of Columbus, died June 11, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 10, 1938, in Delaware County, Indiana, the son of the late Arthur and Olive (Collins) Mertens.
He was a veteran of U.S. Marines Corps.
He is survived by his brother, Donald (Cindy) Mertens; sister, Jeanette Godfrey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
No services will be observed. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements were handled by Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville.
