Michael H. Rapp

Michael H. Rapp, 63, of Chillicothe, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Adena Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 14, 1952, in Portsmouth, the son of Howard Rapp and Dorcas (Pennington) Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Michael was a 1970 graduate of Valley High School in Lucasville. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Air Force from 1972-1976.

Michael loved a lot of things such as fishing, deer hunting, gardening and working as a truck driver for Rumpke, but most of all he loved people. He had great faith and a wonderful sense of humor, traits that made him endearing to others.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 383 ½ months, Louise (Rigsby) Rapp; his mother, Dorcas Cooper; daughter, Tonya; son, Joey (Laurie) Zborek; grandchildren, Monika, Skylar, Heather, Kirstie and Kyle; sister, Mary (Rick) Johnson; best friend, Cliff Ream; many other special family members and friends; and pets, Tippy the dog and Goldie the cat.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery with military honors provided by the Williamsport American Legion. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family thanks the nurses at Adena on 3A and 2N ICU for the wonderful care they provided to Mike and his family.
