CIRCLEVILLE – Summer in Circleville officially kicked off at noon on Saturday with the opening of the city pool at Ted Lewis Park.

The water was a little chilly but still lots of fun for the Hopper children of Ashville, whose mother, Virginia, said she was happily surprised to learn her YMCA membership grants free admission to the city pool all summer long.

For non-members, the price of admission is $2 for children ages 3 to 8; $4 for youth ages 9 to 17; $6 for adults ages 18 to 59; and $2 for seniors ages 60 and older. Family admission for two adults and children ages 17 and under is $20 for the day.

The city pool, operated by the Pickaway County Family YMCA, also offers season passes for non-Y members, which are $80 for youth ages 9 to 17; $100 for adults ages 18 to 59; $80 for seniors ages 60 and older; and $175 for a family of two adults and children under age 17.

Next week, the city pool is operating under special hours of 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, May 26 to 29.

Normal operating hours are Monday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
