Teets indicted on murder charge

CIRCLEVILLE – Trevor A. Teets, 20, of Circleville, was indicted by the Pickaway County Grand Jury on Feb. 6 in the shooting death of Alicia M. Pentecost-Salyers at his apartment on Caroline Court in the city.

Teets was indicted on charges of murder, voluntary manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter and domestic violence and faces a maximum of 15 years to life in prison if convicted.

He is currently being held on $2 million bond in the Pickaway County Jail following an initial hearing Feb. 3 in Circleville Municipal Court. His case was set for a preliminary hearing Monday, but that hearing was cancelled upon the indictment.

He is now expected to be arraigned on the felony charges Wednesday in Pickaway County Common Pleas Court.

Teets is accused in the shooting death of Salyers, 19, with whom he had a relationship. Salyers was declared dead at the scene of the shooting at 129 Caroline Court, Circleville, shortly after 2 p.m. Feb. 1.

Funeral services for Salyers are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, where friends are invited to call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. She will be laid to rest in Forest Cemetery.
