YMCA gymnasts to compete at national championships

Sixteen gymnasts from the Pickaway County Family YMCA Gymnastics Team will compete June 29 to July 2 at the 2017 YMCA National Gymnastics Championships in Savannah, Georgia.

The gymnasts and the level they will compete are:

– Level 2: Madison Burriss and Trineti Trout

– Level 3: Tessa Bradley, Sydney Lattimer, Kate Riddley and Laney Tussing

– Level 4: Sophie Ash and Jensen Koch

– Level 6: Natalie Newton, Iva O’Dell and Tayla Tootle

– Level 7: Allyson Cotton

– Xcel Gold: Izabella Carroll, Caitie Ward, Shelby Ward and Kylie Wohnhas.

The team is coached by head coach Katy Blubaugh and assistant coaches Kelly Ward, Kelly O’Dell, Brittany Scott, Lauren Copeland and Dan Tooley.

Blubaugh said the girls are excited to compete at the national level.

“The girls have worked hard all season to be in a position to compete at this level,” Blubaugh said. “We are excited for them, and so proud of them all.”
