Richard Hayes “Dick” Moore, 90, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2017, at Sunrise Senior Living of Dublin in Columbus.

He is survived by his twin children, Douglas Bryan (Betsy) Moore and Deborah Lynn (George) Bartley; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; nephews, Jon Eric (Lori) Moore and Christopher Hyde Moore; and step-children, Ronald (Sheila) Smith, Kent Smith and Becky (Smith) Sanders.

Mr. Moore was born on Aug. 8, 1926, in Jackson, to Hayes and Blodwen (Jones) Moore.

He grew up in Portsmouth and attended Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Marine Corps Reserves as a radio technician.

He spent his career at DuPont in Circleville as a chemical engineer and customer service representative.

Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and classical music. He was seldom without a beloved German Shepherd by his side.

Mr. Moore was predeceased by wives, Jacquetta Fredonia Moore and Evelyn Sutton Moore; and brothers, Donald Alan Moore and Phillip Jones Moore.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus.
