Charles T. “Tom” Moore

Charles Thomas “Tom” Moore, 73, of Circleville, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Berger Hospital.

He was born July 12, 1943, the son of Forest Johnson and Shurlie Marie (Hayes) Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John William Moore; and his grandson, Anthony Strassel.

Tom was a graduate of Circleville High School and retired from DuPont after 34 years of service. He was a member of the VFW, Eagles, Elks and the Ross Co. Conservation League.

Tom was kind, loving, understanding and good-hearted. He liked having a good time and was a very social person. He was an avid hunter and actually enjoyed cleaning his truck. Tom was a huge Buckeye fan and was also a fan of the Cavs and the Wildcats.

He loved his family and taking his grandkids rides on his 4-wheeler.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Natalie (Donnie) Florence and Jodelle (Ernie Haddox) Strassel; grandchildren, Brooke Burd, Jacob (Kanokrawee) Burd, Joe Strassel, Tyler Haddox and Macy Haddox; great-grandchildren, Braeden Bailey, Daylin Conley and Weston Strassel; siblings, Donna Murphy, Alice (Larry) Weaver, Geneva Arledge, Freddy (Mary Ann) Moore and Linda (Frank) Speakman; many nieces and nephews; and many, many special friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at the funeral home.
