Russell L. Ogan

Russell L. Ogan, 88, of Circleville, went to be with the Lord and his late wife, Ida Ogan, on April 15, 2017.

Russell was a retired Army staff sergeant, having served in the Korean War.

He was born on Dec. 14, 1928, in Pickaway County, to Fred and Mary (Chandler) Ogan.

He served as a law enforcement officer and court bailiff for the Circleville Police Department and also was a park ranger at some of the Ohio parks.

He loved to ride horses, bowl, hunt and fish.

He was a member of the Second Baptist Church, VFW, AMVETS and the American Legion.

Russell was preceded in death by wife, Ida Mae Ogan; his parents and step-parents; one sister; two step-sisters; and two step-brothers.

Russ leaves behind two sons, Danny (Marie) and David (Cindy) Ogan; daughter, Pat Ogan Hedges; grandsons, Darcy and Alex Ogan; granddaughters, Shannon Gray, Kristy (Shawn) Dountz and Michelle Ogan; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, David; his nieces and nephews; and his little sidekick, Muttley.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Pastor Derrick Holmes officiating, with burial following in Floral Hills Cemetery. Friends called at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The family would like to thank Carrie from Berger Hospice, Kim Garrett from Berger Hospital, Toni Peele and all the Second Baptist Church.
