Philipp L. Roar Sr.

Philipp Lee Roar Sr. was born on Oct. 7, 1943, to Acy and Gertrude Roar in Grahn, Kentucky, and he passed away into the hands of the Lord Jesus on April 14, 2017, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 73.

Philipp is proceeded in death by his parents; wives, Connie and Darlene Roar; sister, Oneida Baker; and daughter, Barbie Spencer.

Left to cherish his memories are eight children, Lisa Kennedy, Joe Scowden, Lori Thurman, Larry Scowden, Philipp Roar Jr., Leeanna Hyland, Shellie Roar and Brett Roar; 24 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his sister, Yvonne Landrum.

Philipp was a United States Navy veteran, a central Ohio Shell Oil and Marathon Oil business owner and a member of the local central Ohio drag racing community, where he was best known as the owner and driver of the Roar-n-Hemi.

A memorial service is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 29, 2017, at the Heritage Nazarene Church, 2264 Walnut Creek Pike, Circleville, for those who wish to pay their respects and share memories.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family request donations of any amount to be made with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Cure Duchenne or the Lymphoma Association charities in Philipp’s name. Cards can be dropped off at the memorial service.
