SOUTH BLOOMFIELD – What started as a potential speeding ticket from a Pickaway County Sheriff’s deputy Wednesday ended with the apprehension of two people wanted by the U.S. Marshal Service.

Tony W. Redman, 43, and Molly S. Pauley, 45, both of Huntington, West Virginia, were taken into custody on federal felony warrants during a traffic stop near Wendy’s on U.S. Route 23 in South Bloomfield.

A third suspect, Rebecca D. Holland, 33, also of Huntington, West Virginia, was also arrested at the scene as a fugitive of justice from West Virginia but was not wanted by the U.S. Marshal Service.

According to Deputy Stephen Harger, Redman was the driver of a vehicle that was stopped for a speeding violation Wednesday morning. None of the four occupants of the vehicle could produce identification, he said, and the registration of the vehicle out of West Virginia could not be verified.

“Nobody had any ID on them, so I had South Bloomfield Police come over with their RAPID-ID to have everyone positively identified,” Harger said.

RAPID-ID is a mobile fingerprint identification system that Harger said quickly verified the subjects’ true identities, which was reportedly different than what they verbally told him during the traffic stop.

Redman was arrested on the U.S. Marshal Service warrant and charged locally with speeding, driving under suspension and obstructing official business.

Pauley was arrested on the U.S. Marshal Service warrant but received no other local charges.

Holland was arrested as a fugitive from justice, as well as obstructing official business and possession of drug abuse instruments.

The fourth occupant of the vehicle was released from the scene without charges, Harger said.

The three suspects arrested Wednesday are currently being held in the Pickaway County Jail.
