Ralph E. Anderson, age 87 years, 2 months, 11 days, of Springboro, formerly of Laurelville, Hocking County, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at Elmcroft Senior Living.

Ralph was born in on Dec. 17, 1929, in West Carrollton, to Pearl and Minerva Mary (Juniper) Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bill Anderson.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Eleanor “Jane” Anderson; his son, Thomas (Jeannie) Anderson; and daughters, Beverly (Ken) McHone, Rebecca (Bill) Knee and Mary (Nelson) Gerhard; nine grandchildren (two deceased); and 15 great-grandchildren.

Ralph was a 68-year member of Sheet Metal Local 24, having worked and supervised many construction projects in the tri-state area.

He was an avid outdoorsman, always with a dog or two by his side. Ralph was a member of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.

He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, friend and story teller to all who knew him.

Funeral services will take place at noon Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd. St., Franklin, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Masonic Services will be held at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Springboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Heartland.
