Staff Reports

The following cases recently were heard by Judge P. Randall Knece in Pickaway County Common Pleas Court:

– Paul M. Bigger, 37, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, pleaded guilty to improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to 12 months in state prison (suspended), a $1,000 fine and three years of community control.

– Brittany N. Blackburn, 26, of Galloway, pleaded not guilty to assault on a peace officer. A pretrial hearing is set for March 10.

– Marvin D. Blevins Jr., 29, of Chillicothe, pleaded guilty to theft and forgery. He was sentenced to 30 days in the county jail, three years of intervention and six months in a community-based correctional facility program.

– Jason Calder, 24, of Kingston Court, Circleville, pleaded guilty to a violation of community control. His community control was extended to five years, and he was ordered to complete an outpatient program through Pickaway Area Recovery Services (PARS).

– Mark M. Denny, 43, of Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin and possession of cocaine. He will be sentenced following a pre-sentence investigation by the court.

– Paulica J. Haddox, 29, of North Scioto Street, Circleville, pleaded not guilty to forgery and receiving stolen property. A pretrial hearing is set for March 10.

– Kristian D. McDaniel, 25, of Columbus, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and having weapons under disability. McDaniel was sentenced to three years plus nine months in state prison.

– Amanda D. Peyton, 30, an inmate at Marysville Reformatory for Women, pleaded not guilty to non-support of dependents. A pretrial hearing is set for March 10.

– Brandon Rutledge, 36, of Westerville, pleaded guilty to a violation of community control. He was sentenced to 30 months in state prison.

– Brooke M. Stewart, 37, of Chillicothe, pleaded guilty to illegal conveyance of prohibited items into a detention facility. She will be sentenced following a pre-sentence investigation by the court.

– Catherine J. Young, 51, of Kingston, pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs. A pretrial hearing is set for March 10.
