Roxie Ellen (Frasure) Barr, 92, of Ashville, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at Berger Hospital.

She was born May 2, 1924, and was the daughter of Clarence and Georgia Alice (Shaeffer) Frasure from Oakland, Ohio. She grew up there and had many stories to tell about growing up on the farm, the Great Depression and World War II.

She started school at Oakland and graduated from Stoutsville High School in 1942. After graduation, she began working at the Fairfield County Court House, later working at the Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance in Columbus before marrying Ralph Barr in 1946. She later went back to work as a Status Medical Record Technician for Grant Hospital for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ralph Barr, who passed away Feb. 11, 2017; as well as her brothers, Melvin, Maynard and Verne.

Left to mourn is her loving family, Dean (Pat) Barr, James (Karin) Barr and Joyce Ann (John) Butts. She was adored by her grandchildren, Angie, Laurie, Erin, Corey, Timothy, Stephen, Jenny, Jason and Jared, as well as by her great-grandchildren, Michayla, Trey, Jaidyn, D.J., Lily, Austin, Cameron, Emilee, Sadie, Tucker, Stella, Ellie and Sophie.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at Village Chapel United Methodist Church, 30 Circleville Ave., Ashville. Visitation will be one hour before the service, with Pastor Kevin Pees officiating. Burial will follow at the Reber Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Village Chapel United Methodist Church; or Berger Hospice, 600 N. Pickaway St., Circleville, Ohio 43113.
