Rex Owen Dye, 77, of Amanda, went to be with his Lord and Savior very unexpectedly on Feb. 17, 2017.

Rex was born on June 21, 1939, to Lawrence and Autie (Thacker) Dye.

In addition to his parents, Rex is preceded in death by his brothers, Omar Dye and Glenn Dye.

Rex is survived by his loving wife, Janet; children, Veronica Angles and Chase Dye; step-children, Bryan (Wendy) Stroup, Christina (Chris) Good and Susan (Scott) Berry; grandchildren, Joshua and Brittany Angles; step-grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Jared and Callie Berry, Aaron and Abby Stroup and Kaleb Lintz; and sisters, Lorraine Counts and Charlene Bell.

Rex served with the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War veteran. He retired from DuPont after 32 years.

He enjoyed building his own homes. He was an avid wildlife lover and loved being outdoors. Rex’s smile and kindness will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with a graveside service to be held at 2 p.m. at the Amanda Township Cemetery.
