Staff Reports

The following cases recently were heard by Judge P. Randall Knece in Pickaway County Common Pleas Court:

– Matthew D. Zerhusen, 27, of Richmond Avenue, South Bloomfield, pleaded not guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence and aggravated vehicular homicide. Zerhusen was the driver of a vehicle that crashed on Gibson Road and rolled on its top into a bean field on Aug. 12, 2016. Roni Hess, 26, of Columbus, was killed in the crash. A pretrial hearing is set for Feb. 10.

– Dustin R. Carter, 30, of West Scioto Street, Orient, pleaded not guilty to assault on a peace officer. A pretrial hearing is set for Feb. 10.

– Patricia Haney, 43, of Town Street, Circleville, pleaded guilty to a violation of terms of intervention. She was sentenced to six months in a community based correctional facility program.

– Blaine R. Hardin, 25, of Ringgold Northern Road, Ashville, pleaded guilty to a violation of terms of intervention. He was sentenced to 30 days in the county jail and completion of a Pickaway Area Recovery Services program and Intensive Supervision program.

– Chao Malik, 24, of Columbus, pleaded guilty to a violation of community control. The case will be set for hearing.

– Michael R. Moebs, 49, of Old Tarlton Pike, Circleville, pleaded guilty to sexual battery. He was sentenced to five years in state prison and must register as a Tier III sexual offender for life with a 90-day verification requirement.

Tabatha M. Munson, 38, of South Scioto Street, Circleville, pleaded guilty to a violation of community control. She was sentenced to 24 months in state prison.

– James T. Rose, 41, of Lowery Lane, Circleville, pleaded guilty to trafficking in heroin. He was sentenced to three years of intervention, six months at a community based correctional facility program and then the Intensive Supervision program.
