Circleville Police Reports

Jan. 12, 2017:

– A caller on Hayward Avenue reported he was on his way to work and noticed the door on his neighbor’s vehicle was standing wide open. Officers made contact with the owner, and the scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 100 block of Villa Drive. The call was canceled, and the homeowner advised it was accidental.

– A caller reported people were on his roof on Crossings Blvd., and he had seen someone on a ladder and they were handing down what appeared to be siding to another person. Officers had been in the area, and no one was located on the roof or with a ladder. The scene checked OK.

– A Rumpke driver reported a door was open at Sherwin Williams on North Court Street. The key holder was on scene, and the scene checked OK.

– A caller reported a suspicious vehicle at Mary Virginia Crites-Hannan Park on Route 188. The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office handled the call.

– Officers performed a warrant arrest on an inmate at the Franklin County Jail.

– The Circleville Fire Department responded to reports of a suspicious odor at City Hall on South Court Street. Nothing was found.

– A resident came to the police station to report a male that was living with her was now harassing her. She was advised to block the subject from her phone and contact police if the harassment continues.

– An employee at Porter’s Car Wash on North Court Street reported an attempted burglary with video surveillance. A report was taken on criminal damaging.

– Officers responded to an alarm activation in the 1000 block of North Court Street. Officers advised it was the wind, and the scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to assist another agency with an arrest on Hayward Street. The subject could not be located.

– A caller in the 100 block of Gale Court reported someone was using her identity. Officers advised no theft had occurred.

– A caller in the 100 block of North Pickaway Street reported her debit card was stolen, and the male who stole it had used it at Short Stop. A report was taken on theft.

– A caller on East High Street reported a Vera Bradley style bag was on the sidewalk in front of the residence, and the caller believes there may be narcotics inside. A report was taken on found property.

– A caller from Kroger on Lancaster Pike reported a car was parked in the fire lane with a pit bull inside, and the propane delivery driver was unable to drop off his product. The owner was advised and moved the vehicle.

– Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call in the 200 block of West Mound Street. The scene checked OK.

– An employee at Four J Properties on South Court Street reported someone attempted to pull the awning off the front of the building and bent the frame. The suspects also had accessed the roof area and vandalized it. Extra patrol was requested.

– A caller reported a male subject with an active arrest warrant was walking in the area of Donatos Pizza on Lancaster Pike. Information was obtained, and officers were unable to locate any warrant information on the subject.

– Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of Fairview Blvd. Officers advised the subject was waiting on a friend, and the scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to an injury accident in the 200 block of East Main Street.

– An employee at CashLand on Lancaster Pike reported a PlayStation 4 had been stolen from the store. A report was taken on theft.

– A resident in the 200 block of North Court Street reported the theft of her Rumpke trash can.

– Officers responded to a parking complaint at Liberty Pawn Shop on West Main Street. A citation was issued.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 700 block of Clinton Street. The scene checked OK.

– A caller in the 400 block of South Scioto Street reported a large pine tree was coming out of the ground by the roots and leaning halfway into the roadway. The officer advised the tree was leaning more toward the alley and not into the street.

– A caller in the 100 block of Town Street reported a low-hanging power line. AEP handled the scene.

– A resident in the 200 block of Logan Street reported a suspicious vehicle on the street with a busted out window and missing license plates. The vehicle was impounded.

– An employee at Subway on North Court Street reported receiving a $100 bill as payment, and they believed it to be fake. Officers advised the bill checked OK.

– The city’s canine unit performed an agency assist on a traffic stop with the Ohio State Highway Patrol at Barnes Avenue and Washington Street.

– Officers were requested for a well-being check on Crossings Blvd., but the caller canceled the call after she made contact with the subject.

– A caller reported witnessing a male subject wearing a ski mask attempting to break into CashLand on Lancaster Pike, and he shattered the glass with what appeared to be a tire iron. The subject then ran toward Kroger and Big Lots. Extra patrol was requested, and a report was taken. The key holder advised they would remain on the scene until repairs could be made.

– Officers responded to a domestic dispute on East High Street. Both parties were advised it was a civil matter and given suggested solutions to the issue at hand.

– Officers responded to a domestic dispute on Timberline Drive. A report was taken.
