Orville E. Kempton, 93, of Laurelville, died Jan. 7, 2017, in Circleville.

He was born June 13, 1923, in Dayton, the son of Albert and Laura (Meeker) Kempton.

Orville was a World War II Army veteran, member of Laurel Hills United Methodist Church, Pumpkin City Wings, Lancaster Old Car Club and Roundtown Roamers.

Orville owned and operated his own service garage for over 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Lou Kempton, Vera Seymour and Inez Minshall; and brothers, Ernest, Curtis, Walter, Ellsworth, Glenn and Kenneth Kempton.

Orville is survived by his wife, Gertrude (Bigham) Kempton; son, Mark (Vicky) Kempton; granddaughters, Amber (Adam) Gooley, Terri (Corey) Calla and Traci (Aaron) Garner; brother, Don Kempton; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville, with burial in the Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Laurelville.
