April 17

– Nathaniel Hagwood of Columbus was arrested for theft at Kroger on Lancaster Pike and an outstanding warrant from Whitehall after a Kroger employee reported they had a shoplifter detained.

– A resident in the 200 block of Clark Drive reported her vehicle had been ransacked.

– A male juvenile was arrested and transported to juvenile court for a violation of probation after being accused of breaking into his grandmother’s home the night before.

– A caller reported two females had taken property from a store without paying in the 400 block of East Franklin Street. A report was taken on theft.

– A caller reported she was involved in a property damage accident with a postal worker at Sutherland’s on Lancaster Pike.

– A resident in the 300 block of Northridge Road came to the police station to report a neighbor’s dog was constantly using his yard to do its business. An officer would make contact with the other subject and advise them regarding city leash laws.

– An officer was contacted regarding an unruly child/runaway on Bolens Avenue. The officer advised it was a school-related issue and referred questions to school administration.

– An employee of Wittich’s Candy reported her vehicles were struck sometime in the last couple of days while parked in front of the business. A report was taken.

– Officers responded to the scene of an overdose in the 400 block of East Mound Street. The subject was transported to Berger Hospital.

– A caller reported two cars racing down Court Street toward McDonald’s. All units were advised.

– A 911 caller reported a head-on collision in front of the UDF store on East Main Street. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, and subjects were treated for injuries.

– A resident in the 100 block of Hayward Avenue reported an aggressive pit bull loose in the area. The officer located the dog’s owner, and they were advised.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 100 block of Logan Street after a resident came to the police station to report a neighbor dispute.

– A resident in the 400 block of Ruth Avenue came to the police station to report a case of identity theft.

– Officers tracked down the source of a 911 hang-up call to Genesis Health Care on Atwater Avenue, where they advised a senior dialed 911 by mistake. The scene checked OK.

– A caller reported he found a Savings Bank bag near the roadway in a row of bushes in the 500 block of Lancaster Pike. The caller then advised the item was trash. No report was taken.

– A resident in the 100 block of Pontious Lane reported a juvenile had damaged her chain link fence.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Scioto Valley Coffee on West Main Street. The scene checked OK.

– A resident came to the police station to report a suspicious male going through the recycling bins at the Circleville Fire Department. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– An Amanda resident reported she was involved in a road rage incident with a male in the area of Little Caesars on Lancaster Pike. All units were advised.

– A caller requested to speak with an officer regarding a custody dispute in the 100 block of Caroline Court. A report was taken in interference with custody.

– Officers responded to an activated fire alarm at Moats Hall on the Ohio Christian University campus. The fire department arrived and determined it was a false alarm.

– A 911 caller reported a known female subject was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and left a residence in the 200 block of West Mound Street with her children. Officers conducted a traffic stop and advised the female showed no signs of impairment. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– An anonymous caller reported a large bonfire in the back yard of a neighboring residence, and she believed the subjects were drunk. Officers advised there was no fire.

– A resident in the 100 block of Third Street reported his girlfriend was tearing up the house. The female was transported to another location, and a report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– An anonymous caller reported a known female subject was driving drunk with fictitious tags in the downtown area. Officers were unable to locate the subject but would watch the area.

– A caller in the 200 block of West Main Street reported a loud argument outside at the corner that seemed to be escalating. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– A resident in the 100 block of Pinckney Street reported loud music coming from the Pour House, and they had the back door of the business propped open. The officer advised the business to close the back door.

– Officers recovered narcotics following a traffic stop in the area of South Court and East Franklin streets. A report was taken on possession.

April 18

– A caller reported a female was drinking a beer while leaving the lot of the Duke and Duchess gas sttion on East Main Street. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Circle Auto Parts on East Franklin Street. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 500 block of North Pickaway Street reported his rental car had been vandalized by egging. The officer advised no damage was done.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Ohio Street reported a suspicious vehicle parked in her back yard. The owner was located, and the vehicle was moved.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Micro Systems on North Court Street. The scene checked OK.

– A caller reported two dogs running loose in the area of Pickaway and Town streets, and they were possibly vicious. The dog warden was advised. Officers cleared the call after talking to several neighbors who advised they had not seen any dogs out that day.

– A resident in the 300 block of Logan Street reported finding syringes in his back yard. Officers located and disposed of the items.

– A resident in the 500 block of Spring Hollow Road reported a family member in a motorized wheelchair was stuck in the yard. Officers were able to free the wheelchair.

– A resident in the 400 block of South Pickaway Street reported a possibly intoxicated female at her yard sale taking items and stuffing them into her purse. The caller did not want charges filed, but wanted the female to be told not to return.

– A resident in the 400 block of Ruth Avenue reported someone egged his truck overnight. A report was taken on criminal damaging.

– A resident in the 100 block of West Ohio Street reported a large amount of beer bottles in the alley off Harrison Avenue from South Scioto Street, and some of them were broken. The bottles were moved from the alleyway.

– Jonathan C. Griffith was arrested at Scioto Downs on a warrant from the Circleville Police Department for failure to appear for trial on a theft charge.

– Kevin M. Scudder of state Route 56 East was arrested for possession of narcotics following a traffic stop at South Court Street and Corwin Street after a caller advised he was driving recklessly through town.

– A Columbus resident called 911 to report her cell phone was stolen somewhere in Columbus, and her cell phone provider was telling her it had been located at J’s Barber Shop. The cell phone was not found at that location, and the complainant was referred to Franklin County or the Columbus Police Department for a report.

– A resident came to the police station to turn in a birth certificate located at Ted Lewis Park. Contact was made with the subject’s grandmother, who advised she would send the subject to pick up the item the following day.

– A resident in the 100 block of East Mill Street reported his 14-year-old son was jumped and assaulted by a known subject, who had since left the area. The resident declined charges but requested extra patrol due to the number of juveniles in the area. A report was taken on disorderly conduct.

– A resident in the 100 block of Pontious Lane reported receiving a phone call from a known number from someone stating he ordered 20 pizzas and they wanted their money. The caller did not give a name of the business, and the person did not threaten him. Information was obtained. The resident later called back and reported he was now receiving harassing calls from a different phone number asking him about sexual favors. Officers were unable to locate anyone at the residence on the second call.

– A resident in the 100 block of Stihl Avenue reported his wallet was stolen from his car at Donatos on Lancaster Pike. A report was taken on theft.

– A resident in the 100 block of West Water Street reported he was walking by the Pour House and a known subject was yelling at him and calling him a drug dealer in front of everyone outside.

– A resident in the 600 block of South Scioto Street reported a subject had assaulted his 13-year-old son. No injuries were noted on the juvenile. A report was taken.

– A caller reported a vehicle had struck a rock in the yard in the 1100 block of Atwater Avenue. A report was taken on an injury accident, and the driver was transported to Berger Hospital.

– A caller reported a bonfire he believed was too close to dwellings in the 600 block of East Main Street. There was no fire when officers arrived, but a party did admit to having one.

– A resident in the 200 block of Huston Street reported she could hear neighbors fighting. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A resident in the 1100 block of South Court Street reported someone keeps vandalizing her vehicle, and she knew who it was. No report was taken, and extra patrol was requested.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Union Street reported hearing noises outside, and she believed someone was messing around with her vehicle. The officer advised it was possibly an animal making the noise. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Pickaway-Ross on East Mound Street. The scene checked OK.

April 19

– An officer was flagged down for a report of a male breaking into vending machines at the Discount Grocery on South Pickaway Street. Officers checked the scene and other local businesses in the area but were unable to locate.

– Michael T. Bowers was arrested for a violation of probation and disorderly conduct after a caller reported a male passed out on the sidewalk in front of the Starfire Express gas station on West Main Street.

– A 911 caller in the 100 block of West Ohio Street reported she thought she heard someone on her porch. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area, and the scene checked OK.

– A 911 caller reported a vehicle fire on Lancaster Pike at Stoutsville Pike. The fire department handled the scene, and the vehicle was moved from the roadway awaiting a tow.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 300 block of Walnut Creek Pike. Officers advised it was accidental, and the scene checked OK.

– Officers responded as mutual aid for the city fire department regarding a utility pole smoking in the 1800 block of Northridge Road. The power company arrived to handle the scene.

– Officers were alerted to reports of a male walking from the Walmart area carrying a stolen weedeater from the store.

– A resident in the 500 block of Tower Court reported her son overshot his parking space and ran into the heating/cooling unit of a neighbor’s apartment. A report was taken on a property damage accident.

– The fire department responded to a small oven fire in the 100 block of West Union Street.

– Officers responded to an activated smoke alarm at the Holiday Inn Express on U.S. Route 23. The fire department handled the scene and investigated a false alarm.

– Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call and tracked it to an address in the 400 block of North Court Street. The scene checked OK and was possibly a child messing with the phone.

– A resident came to the police station to report the boyfriend of his children’s mother had been assaulting his children. A report was taken.

– A resident in the 100 block of East High Street reported his step-father tore up his mother’s home while intoxicated and left the scene. A report was taken on a domestic dispute, and officers were advised to be on the lookout for the subject’s vehicle. An officer located the vehicle on Beaver Alley, but the subject was not driving upon officer’s arrival.

– A resident in the 100 block of East Franklin Street reported a male and female arguing in the alley beside Fifth Third Bank on East Main Street. Officers were unable to locate.

– Officers responded as mutual aid for an activated alarm at Rumpke on U.S. Route 22 West. The scene checked OK.

– Charges were filed against Marilyn Metcalf and Christopher Metcalf for a domestic dispute after a 911 caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of West Mound Street.

– Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call in the 100 block of West High Street. The officer determined it was accidental, and the scene checked OK.

– Officers responded as mutual aid for an injury accident in the 8700 block of Route 56 East.

– A caller in the 300 block of East Mill Street reported her brother was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. A report was taken on a domestic dispute and one subject was advised to report to his probation officer in the morning.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 1200 block of Edgewood Drive, but it was canceled on the scene by the keyholder.

– Officers responded to an activated smoke alarm in the 800 block of Lincoln Drive. The fire department responded, but the alarm was canceled by the alarm company.

– A caller reported a vehicle at the Pour House in the 200 block of North Court Street had two flat tires. A report was taken on criminal damaging.

– A resident came to the police station to report he and his girlfriend had been arguing in the 300 block of East Ohio Street. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– An officer performed a well-being check on Bolens Avenue. Contact was made and the subject checked OK.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Franklin Street reported someone attempted to break into his vehicle and the alarm scared them off. The officer recovered some college textbooks and a laptop in the driveway. A report was taken on theft from a motor vehicle.

– A resident in the 600 block of East Mound Street reported someone was trying to break into vehicles in the area, and they believed the subject took off in the direction of Mingo Street.

– A caller reported the westbound traffic light at Clark Drive and Nicholas Drive was not cycling correctly. The officer checked and advised the light was working properly.
