Dorotha A. Bussert, 92, of Amanda, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at the Pickering House.

She was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Fairfield County, and was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary E. (DeLong) Frank.

Dorotha was a life-long member of Zion United Methodist Church and a graduate of Stoutsville High School. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, baking and making candy. She loved spending time with her family.

Dorotha is survived by her children, Connie (Richard Wardell) Hampshire of Kingston, Judy Shupe, James (Pamela) Bussert and Patty (Mark) Gabriel all of Amanda; grandchildren, Roger Hampshire, Mark A. (Teresa) Gabriel, Sheila Stanley, Haley (Travis) Teeters, Andy (Tosha) Shupe and Brian (Breanna Tolliver) Bussert; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Shupe of Lancaster; sisters-in-law, Jeri and Luana Frank; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bussert; son-in-law, Rex Shupe; granddaughter, Amy Schneider; great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Armstrong; four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Dave Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at the funeral home.

The family would like contributions be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 4520 Drinkle Rd., Amanda, Ohio 43102 in Dorotha’s memory.
