The Third Thursday Event Series begins its 14th year in downtown Circleville with the Pickaway Pizza Challenge on Thursday, June 16.

Held on the City of Circleville parking lot on East Franklin Street, the event hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Discount tickets can be purchased in advance via the Pickaway County Welcome Center website, www.pickaway.com; in person at the Welcome Center, 325 W. Main St. in Circleville; or by calling 740-474-3636 during business hours.

Admission is $5 for adults at the gate and is free for anyone aged 17 and under accompanied by a parent or guardian. A special series discount of $10 for all three events is also available right up until the start of the Pizza Challenge.

In the event of extreme weather, the event will be held on the following night if possible.

The music headliner for the Pizza Challenge will be the outstanding Beatles Tribute Band “Hard Day’s Night,” who have entertained audiences throughout the United States. Their entertaining stage show features a number of costume changes to highlight the various stages of the Beatles illustrious career.

Their appearance is made possible by a generous donation from Coughlin Automotive, Stephen Hurst Pack Heating and Cooling and UTE (Utility Truck Equipment).

The Third Thursday Pizza Challenge features the area’s finest restaurants competing for the “People’s Choice Award,” which will be presented to the restaurant receiving the most votes from those attending the event. There will also be other food items for sale in addition to pizza, as well as soft drinks and water sold by the Circleville Band Boosters. The South Bloomfield United Methodist Church will return with their delicious ice cream, and the Budweiser Beer wagon will be on hand with a selection of cold brews.

Prior to the Beatles Tribute Band performance, the Roundtown Players will entertain the audience with selections from their upcoming production of All Shook Up, directed by Jenny Rhoads. The musical features the music made famous by Elvis Presley and a storyline from Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.”

The Third Thursday Marketplace will also return this year, featuring unique items for sale from area businesses.

The Third Thursday Event Series is presented by Coughlin Automotive of Circleville, a proud sponsor for a number of years now, and a complete list of business sponsors will be displayed at the event. A select number of sponsors and organizations will also have displays set up.
