Dorothy “Ann” Cook, 65, of Circleville, died on Monday, April 11, 2016, at Mayfair Village Retirement Center after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.

She was born on Aug. 19, 1950, in Circleville, to the late William Lindsey and Helen Pauline (Johnson) Cook.

Ann graduated from Circleville High School and worked for the State of Ohio for several years. Eventually she joined Berger Hospital in the registration department, where she was employed until her retirement.

She was an active EMT volunteer for many years and was very proud to serve her community. She took delight in her family, her garden, and all animals – especially her dogs. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her creative Halloween costumes.

Ann was preceded in death by her brother, William Alexander Cook; brother-in-law, Robert Susor; and ex-husband, Lionel Lindsay.

She is survived by her sister, Lindsey (Cook) Susor; sister-in-law, Peggy (Tootle) Cook; nephews, William Randall (Michelle) Cook and Robert Alexander (Ashley) Susor; nieces, Dr. Tracy (David) Crouse and Kathleen Cummings; great nephews and nieces, Jason, Brad and Megan Crouse, Will, Nate and Drew Cummings, Rachael Cook and Robert Susor.

A memorial gathering with light refreshments is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Wellman Funeral Home, 1455 N. Court St., Circleville. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Circleville Humane Society or Circleville EMS.
