Phyllis Tolliver

Phyllis Tolliver, 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Thursday, March 31, 2016, surrounded by her family.

She was born Oct. 8, 1936, in Circleville, to the late Harry and Martha (Duff) Ramey.

She and her husband, Burton, were owners of the Bell Sign Co. in Columbus for many years. She was also a member of the former Delray Rd. CCCU, now Lighthouse Ministries.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Burton M. Tolliver II; son, Burton M. Tolliver III; sisters, Donna Blackburn and Carol Ramey; brothers, Melvin Ramey and Buddy Ramey; and grandsons, Matthew and Michael Tolliver.

Phyllis is survived by daughters, Filicia Dyer of Ocala, Florida, and Linda (Randy) Smith of Ashville; sister, Sarah “Sally” Baucum of Ocala, Florida; grandchildren, Seth X. and Rachel Roese of North Carolina, Michael and Dallas Swicegood of Texas, Huston Austin of Texas, Casey and Greg Hagan of Kentucky, Julie and Tony Foster of Ashville, Jon and Debbi Smith of Lockbourne, Joe Smith of Ashville and granddog, Millie; great-grandchildren, Xavier, Kallen, Blake Austin, Brantley Swicegood, Tyler Austin, Houston Austin Jr., Madi, Eli, Ella Foster, Emma and John Smith, and Weston Smith; life-long friends, Louanne and Jim Breeze, numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends in Florida.

Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Lighthouse Ministries Church, 2295 S. High St., Columbus. A service in memory of Phyllis will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the church with Pastor Stephen Palmer officiating, Interment to follow in Obetz Cemetery.
