CIRCLEVILLE – A Chillicothe woman has died of injuries suffered in a three-vehicle crash Saturday evening at Pickaway Crossing on U.S. Route 23.

The victim is identified as Regeana Shewalter, 69, of Chillicothe, according to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Lt. Cory Bachnicki said Shewalter was one of three occupants in a 2002 Toyota Avalon traveling northbound on U.S. Route 23 about 5:52 p.m. Saturday when the accident occurred.

The driver, James A. Teeters, 73, of Port Orange, Florida, was attempting to make a left turn into the parking lot near Pizza Cottage when the vehicle was struck by a southbound 2015 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Bruce Davis, 50, of Edwardsville, Illinois.

The impact pushed Teeters’ vehicle into a 1998 Dodge Dakota driven by Darley Denny, 67, of Stoutsville, that was stopped at the intersection.

Bachnicki said three people were transported to Berger Hospital from the scene, including Shewalter, who was then airlifted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where she passed away.

Bachnicki said the crash remains under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
