Louise Stuckey

Louise Stuckey, 98, of Circleville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 2, 1917, to the late Wenrich and Bertha (Pontious) Stuckey of Pickaway Twp., Pickaway County, Ohio.

Louise graduated from Pickaway Twp. High School in 1935 and from Capital University. She later attended Wittenberg University for additional training.

For two years, Louise taught the first and second grades in the Marion Twp. School in Hocking County. The next 35 years she taught the third grade at Pickaway Elementary School in the Logan Elm District.

Louise was an active member of the Lutheran Church in Stoutsville until it closed April 28, 2002. She then transferred her membership to Trinity Lutheran Church in Circleville. She was a long time Sunday School teacher, choir member, Women’s Circle and Council member.

Other memberships were in the National, Ohio and Pickaway Co. Retired Teachers, the Pickaway Co. Historical and Genealogical Society, and volunteering at the Genealogical Library. Louise was interested in crafts, sewing, vegetable and flower gardening. She enjoyed many trips with friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents; sister, Marvine Valentine; and brother, Wenrich “Bill” Stuckey Jr.

Survivors include sister-in-law, Mary Stuckey of Green Springs; nephews, Stephen (Sharlene) Valentine, Dana (Lorraine) Stuckey and David (Bonnie) Stuckey; nieces, Diane Molyet, Debby (Dean) Coughlan and Rebecca (John) Zadnik; many other relatives, friends and special friends, Judy Gulick and her parents, Mack and Doris Gulick.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 135 E. Mound St., Circleville, with The Rev. Dr. Gerhard Kraus officiating. Burial will be in Tarlton Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville.
