CIRCLEVILLE – Roundtown Players ushered in the holiday season Friday with the opening of “White Christmas” on the stage at Memorial Hall.

The musical, based on the classic film starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, runs through Dec. 13 with two matinees for the family-oriented show.

Susan Perkins, director, said the cast and crew have worked hard on the show, which brings the story of the film to life with just a few small changes. In addition to the onstage cast, “White Christmas” also features a small live orchestra performing the music.

The musical stars Tyler Corcoran as Bob Wallace and Jeff Watts as Phil Davis, two Army buddies now in show business looking for love at a Vermont lodge while organizing a Christmas show. Jenny Rhoads and Rachael Lynch also star as sisters Betty and Judy Haynes.

The show, based on the book by David Ives and Paul Blake, features popular Irving Berlin favorites including, of course, the title song, “White Christmas.”

Roundtown Players will present “White Christmas” five more times this season for those who missed Friday’s opening. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5, 11 and 12, with matinees at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 6 and 13.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students, and are available at the door or by calling 740-474-5856. Tickets also may be purchased online at www.roundtownplayers.com.
