Donald F. Benner, 66, of Circleville, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015.

Don was born on March 28, 1949, in Cynthiana, Ohio, the son of Ora “Brady” and Lorraine (East) Benner.

He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Huffman-Dean of Circleville; wife, Sue, whom he married 37 years ago; daughters, Shelley (Robert) Fauver and Krista Benner of Circleville; three grandchildren, Anthony, Amaya and Aliya Fauver; brothers, Steven (Cheryl) Benner of Circleville, Gary Benner of Circleville and Bill (Becky) Benner of Delaware; sister-in-law, Lynn Benner of Lakeland, Florida; two step-brothers, Billy (Karen) Huffman of Circleville and Tim (Marie) Huffman of Lancaster; and a host of nieces, nephews and many close friends.

Don never met a stranger. Whether he was in a store, a restaurant or camping, he was always out talking to people, making new friends. He enjoyed reading, hunting, camping and spending time with his family and friends.

Don was a proud graduate of the Logan Elm High School Class of 1967. Although ill, he was able to attend his high school reunion this past September. He was also a 1971 graduate of Otterbein University.

Don was a shipping supervisor at Anchor Hocking in Lancaster.

He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Bill Huffman Sr.; and step-father, Robert Dean.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at First Church of Christ in Christian Union, 436 E. Ohio St., Circleville, with Dr. David Lattimer and Rev. Don Seymour officiating. Burial will follow in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. There will be no public viewing.

We would like to thank the staff at Genesis Rehab Center, Circleville, for their loving care of Don and for the kindness extended to our family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or the Benner Family for expenses.
