CIRCLEVILLE — The Xavier University Center for Innovation recently named Gary Sharpe, owner and Chairman of the Board of Health Care Logistics, as its first Innovator in Residence.

Sharpe, a Xavier MBA alumnus, earned the recognition based on his innovative spirit, outstanding leadership and enormous support for the Xavier community.

Sharpe’s love of innovation and entrepreneurship prompted him most recently to support Xavier’s Critical Making Program, a new effort that blends innovation with Xavier’s Ignatian values. Sharpe also donated all the specially made stainless steel furniture and signage for the new Xavier University Xhaus, a 600 sq. ft. renovated space in the heart of the start-up community dedicated to helping innovators and entrepreneurs develop ideas, entertain clients and launch their careers. Additionally, Gary Sharpe has endowed an academic scholarship at Xavier University.

Shawn Nason, Chief Innovation Officer at Xavier University, said Sharpe exemplifies the spirit of innovation.

“Like most innovators who had a spark of an idea, Sharpe ran with it and didn’t stop until his idea became a reality,” Nason said. “He started his now multi-million dollar company with nothing but his belief in himself and his products.”

As Innovator in Residence, Sharpe will be available to members of the Xavier community to share his wisdom, insights and business and entrepreneurial knowledge. On Feb. 3, 2016, he will share his journey with the Xavier community as part of its Speaker Series.

Health Care Logistics is headquartered in Circleville with facilities in Galloway, Grove City and Urbancrest. Sharpe also owns Bricolage, a design and manufacturing company for cabinets, plastics, metals and print, which he created to meet the unique needs of each client.

Nason recently blogged about Sharpe’s recognition. Visit this link to read his blog.
