Flora M. “Tonya” Counts, 84, of Chillicothe, died 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 8, 1931, in Ross County, to the late Elbert and Irene Campbell Crowe.
On Sept. 24, 1982, she married Cary D. Counts, who survives.
Also surviving are children, Anna Diehl of Medford, Oregon, Bill (Shirley) Chester of Ashville, Art (Diane) Diehl of Chillicothe and Donald (Melissa) Diehl of Chillicothe; step-children, Greg (Darcy) Counts of Chillicothe, Jeff (Cathy) Counts of Sayre, Pennsylvania, and Sandra (Denver) Kennison of Waverly; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Crowe of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister and several brothers.
Tonya was a caregiver.
A graveside service, with Fr. David Schilder and Pastor Jeremy Hurd officiating, will be held in Floral Hills Memory Gardens at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
