Robert C. Roy, age 80, of Mt. Sterling, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 5, 1935, in Albion, Illinois, son of the late Harry and Harriett (Rigg) Roy.
Rob was retired from State of Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction; former mayor of Mt. Sterling; member of American Legion Post #419 of Mt. Sterling; Mt. Sterling Lodge #269 F & AM; and a veteran of United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by parents; and brother, Wallace Townley Roy.
He is survived by son, Rob Roy of San Diego, California; daughter, Heidi Stone and her husband, Mike; and two grandchildren, Jeremy Robert Stone and Wyatt James Stone.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, Mt. Sterling, Billy Warner officiating, with interment following in Pleasant Cemetery where military honors will be given to the Navy veteran. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will conclude with Masonic services beginning at 7 p.m.
