She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Lewis; and her brother, Harold Crites.

While teaching at Jefferson township, she met James Lewis in August 1941 at the Clinton County Fair. They shared a loving marriage for 51 years. They later married and moved to Hamilton, Ohio, where they built up a great herd of Holstein cattle. They raised their two sons, Jim and Dick, on the farm in Hamilton.

In 1979, they moved to Orient and established Shanghigh Holsteins with their son, Dick, and his wife, Sally.

She was a great-grandmother to Nicholas and Jonathan Schooley, Tyler and Grace Bland, Olivia and Gavin Lewis and Brooke and Hunter Hill. She was loved by her sister Miriam; sister-in-law, Jean Crites; and her brother, Wendell (Margaret). She was loved by many nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was a 4-H leader, and she loved helping the young children in her club. She was an amazing baker and helped bake for years at her church dinners.

She was awarded Outstanding Holstein Woman of the Year in 1992. She belonged to the Sewing Guild and the Progressive Literary Club and was a member of the Commercial Point United Methodist Church.

She was a remarkable lady who loved her family and her church. She was kind and generous to all who knew her and she will be missed.
