Sheriff Charles S. Reader reports that on 05/22/2019 at approximately 1400 hours, his office recieved a call of a possible motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Pine Top and Schmdt Road. Pike County Deputy J. Carver was dispatch to the scene. Upon his arrival, Deputy Carver began his crash investigation and observed, in plain view, what he believed to be narcotics.

At this time the driver, David Timberlake of Scioto County, was taken into custody and advised of his miranda rights. After being advised, Mr. Timberlake admitted to transporting Heroin and what Deputies believed to be Fentanyl. Timberlake is facing multiple charges to include Aggravated Trafficking and Possession. Approximately 370 grams of Heroin and just under 30 grams of Fentanyl was recovered at the scene and taken in to custody. This work by the Pike County Sheriffs Office resulted in stopping a large quantity of drugs from hitting the streets of our Pike and surrounding counties streets. The estimated street value of the suspected narcotics seized may be nearly $80,000 to $100,000.
