Pike County High Speed Chase Results in Arrest of Wanted Domestic Violence Man

PIKE – Pike County Sheriff Reader says due to Cpl. Baeu Romines ability to identify a person known to have several warrants for domestic violence they were able to take the man into custody.

Cpl. Romine said that he was stationary on Morgans Fork road when a motorcycle driven by Joshua Barnett and a female rider drove by. Barnett is a known wanted man for for multiple felony domestic violence in the area. When the officer gave chase the motorcycle took off and after a short pursuit ending on Owens Rd. the two people on the motorcycle fled on foot, and the officer engaged in a foot pursuit. Romine was able to catch and arrest Romine but the female passenger got away, but not without the officer being able to identify her.

Joshua Barnett has two outstanding warrants for Felony Domestic Violence one warrant for Felony Manufacturing, and one Misdemeanor warrant of Domestic Violence. Several New charges are pending at this time.
