The 2017 Circleville Tigers – Head Coach Heath Hinton
Despite a horrific injury to Senior OL, Nick Grady, your Circleville Tigers are ready to bounce back after a 1-9 season last year. We sat down with Senior WR/DB Seth Risner and here is what he had to say…
HOME Sports Media – With the work and preparation the Tigers have put in this summer, how do you think it will reflect this season?
Seth Risner – “We worked really hard this summer, and things will be different than last year. We expect to flip our record from last season to a 9-1 season. We have definitely improved this year and it’s started with leadership. We’re closer this year, we’re a family. This year is gonna be different.”
HOME Sports Media – As a standout player for the Tigers, what does it mean to you to be a leader on this team?
- Advertisement -Seth Risner – “It means everything. I try to do my best and give 100% to be a leader, and it makes the team better.”
HOME Sports Media – What does coach Hinton mean to you personally and to the Tigers team?
Seth Risner – “He’s a second dad to all of us. He’s always there when we need him.”
HOME Sports Media – Are there any games that you or the Tigers have drawn a circle around that excites you?
Seth Risner – “Teays Valley, definitely, Teays Valley.”

Teays Valley Vikings – Head Coach Mark Weber
The Vikings are an extremely confident and poised football team. They know each man has an assignment and a job to do, and they push each other to do their job, and to keep winning simple. We sat down with Senior QB/OLB, Brandon Coleman, and here is what Brandon had to say…
HOME Sports Media – With the work and preparation the Tigers have put in this summer, how do you think it will reflect this season?
Brandon Coleman – “At Teays Valley, we strive to put forth 100% effort, all of the time. I’m not saying you won’t see mistakes, because this is football, but the bounce back is what we work on. We don’t get down on each other, instead, we’re there for one another and lift each other up with enthusiasm and energy. We know our assignments and will get the job done.”
- Advertisement -HOME Sports Media – Compared to last year, would you say the Vikings have improved?
Brandon Coleman – “Oh yeah, Big time. We’ve made some changes and we’re looking a lot faster, and more critiqued. Everyone knows their assignment.”
HOME Sports Media – What does Coach Weber mean to you and the Vikings?
Brandon Coleman – “Honestly, he’s like my second dad, and I tell him that all of the time. I had a grandma pass away last year, and Coach was right there, and he had my back the whole time. We all know he is there for us.”
HOME Sports Media – Are there any games that you and the Vikings are looking forward to this year?
Brandon Coleman – “We don’t really look deep into the season. Week one will tell us what we need to do, and how to get better. But as always Week 9, we’re looking forward to week 9.” (Week 9 is Teays Valley vs. Circleville)
HOME Sports Media – This is the first year in decades that Teays Valley and Westfall don’t play each other, how do you feel about that?
- Advertisement -Brandon Coleman – “It was always great to play them, but for our standings, it helps us in the post season. With playing different teams, it helps us prepare for a deeper run in the playoffs.”
