Pedestrian Hit by Car in Ashville Last Night Sent to Hospital

ASHVILLE – Around midnight last night a off-duty Ashville police officer reported that he hit a pedestrian in the roadway with his personal vehicle.

Around 12:11 AM a scanner call from Pickaway County Sheriff called for ambulance at 316 in-between South Bloomfield and Ashville.

South Bloomfield police officer on the scene reported that the Officer hit the pedestrian with his mirror. The officer said he lost a few teeth and maybe a concussion, and was transferred to Berger with injuries.

There is minimal berm on that part of the road, where a pedestrian cannot walk without being in the road. There is also minimal lighting. The officer in the scanner report said that the pedestrian was in the roadway.

Pickaway Sheriff has the accident under investigation at this time.
