One Man Caught in Shooting Incident in Pike, 24 Year Old Woman Sought

Pike – SHERIFF JAMES E. NELSON reports that on Wednesday April 15, 2020 at approximately 6:15 P.M., deputies along with the Sheriff responded to the Adena Pike Medical Center and took Donald R. Henson into custody. Henson went to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to the leg that he had received on Tuesday during an altercation at a residence of 89 Kennard Road, Waverly, Ohio. Donald R. Henson was taken into custody after he was treated and was then transported to the Sheriff’s office, booked in and transported to the Butler County Jail. Henson was set to appear in Pike County Court Thursday morning at 9:00 A.M. A third suspect involved in the shooting, twenty-four (24) year old Ashley Hicks is still being sought and should be considered armed and dangerous. SHERIFF JAMES E. NELSON reports that on Tuesday morning, April 14, 2020 at 8:37 A.M., deputies along with the Sheriff responded to a call of gun shots being fired at 89 Kennard Road, Waverly, Ohio. Information was given by witnesses that two vehicles fled the scene, one male occupant in a red pickup truck and a black four door vehicle with a female driver and male passenger. A red pickup truck matching the description given was stopped by deputies on North Street at the Waverly Eagles. The driver, identified as Andrew Saxby was taken into custody after drugs and a loaded firearm were located in his vehicle. Saxby was charged with felonious assault and lodged in the Butler County Jail. Warrants have also been issued for felonious assault against the occupants of the second vehicle who have been identified a Donald R. Henson Jr., age 45, and Ashley S. Hicks., age 24. Anyone who comes in contact with Henson or Hicks is asked to contact the Pike County Sheriff’s Office at 740-947-2111. The pair should be considered armed and dangerous.
