Ohio Man Arrested for Murder After Month Long Investigation

NEWARK – A Newark man has been arrested after a month long investigation into a death of a man inside the city.


According to Newark Police department a call came out on June 18th at 12:30am of a possible overdose on 216 Isabell road in the city of Newark. The unresponsive male was transported to Licking Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The 43, year old man was identified as Joshua Hayes. During the autopsy it was discovered that the man had suffered internal bleeding from blunt force to the body and died of those wounds.


Detective immediately went to work to establish a surrounding case for the victim. They interviewed dozens of people who may have had information on what happened to the victim. After collecting evidence detectives established enough probable cause to arrest 42 year old Roy Ramsey II of Newark. Ramsey was interviewed and charged with murder, he is being held at the Licking County Justice Center.

According to Police more charges may be pending.
