PICK AWAY – Plan ahead and add extra travel time to your commute Wednesday morning because forecasts are calling for snow here in Central Ohio.

Since the precipitation is expected to start as freezing rain and then turn to snow, ODOT will begin treating interstates, state and US routes, ramps and bridges at 3:30 this afternoon(Tuesday).

106 ODOT snow plows will be on duty in Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway and Union counties.

The number of snow plows will increase by 10 to a total of 116 ODOT snow plows working at midnight when the precipitation is expected to turn to all snow. 116 snow plows will remain on duty through the Wednesday morning rush hour to ensure roads and bridges are safe and passable.

Since it may still be snowing by the time many drivers hit the road in the morning, ODOT advises that you plan ahead and allow for extra time to safely reach your destination.
