Man Charged with Overdose Death in Circleville

CIRCLEVILLE – On May 25, 2020 the Circleville Police Department Communications Center received a call advising of a possible overdose at a residence in the 100 block of Lewis Ave. On arrival, officers located an unresponsive male along with two other individuals. Officers preformed CPR and administered multiple doses of Narcan. The unresponsive male was transported to Ohio Health Berger Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.


A male individual identified as Charles Bellamy was located in the residence by responding officers. Mr. Bellamy admitted to providing the fentanyl responsible for the overdose. Mr. Bellamy was arrested on charges of Involuntary Manslaughter, Corrupting Another with Drugs, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of Drugs, and Trafficking in Drugs. Mr. Bellamy was arrested and transported to the Pickaway County Jail without incident. This incident remains under investigation by the Circleville Police Department and additional criminal charges are possible.
